Camp-Themed Glamping Wedding at Cedar Lakes Estate
Port Jervis, NY, USAWhat could be more romantic and fun than a rustic, camp-inspired wedding in upstate New York where the theme of the weekend was enjoying the nature surrounding Cedar Lakes Estate? This wedding at a former summer campground played a perfect line between rustic and glamorous, with guests staying in cabins yet celebrating in black tie in the custom-created ballroom. The immediate families and bridal party were first to arrive, and were treated to an intimate farm-to-table dinner in the garden. As guests arrived Friday, they were sorted into teams for an afternoon of field games and “color wars” for hours of fun and bonding (and of course a little friendly competition ;). For the less adventurous, we set up a crafts cabin with an expert counselor. At the Welcome Party that night, we had a little ceremony to award the winners of the day, and surprised everyone with a highlight video of the day! On the wedding day, after a surprise thunderstorm and elongated cocktail hour, the brides exchanged their vows atop the mountain, dined amongst their guests in their “pop-up” ballroom, and danced in the estate’s barn. And, of course, there was an after-party in the “Treehouse” with the DJ who played the night the newlyweds met!
